The iDML Lite application offers a functional preview of InDesign IDML documents on iOS devices, facilitating on-the-go review of layout and content. It accurately displays document structure, including text content, embedded graphics, and the positioning of text and graphic frames, providing a clear visualization of document composition.

The app enables users to view individual stories within the document, enhancing the readability and review process beyond what standard PDF previews can offer. Integration with team Dropbox accounts allows seamless access to the latest document versions, supporting efficient collaboration and progress tracking.

While the free version provides comprehensive preview features, the full version includes editing capabilities for text within the document, with changes saved directly back to the IDML file.

It is important to note that iDML Lite does not include InDesign's paragraph composer nor advanced image processing tools. The preview may not reflect exact text positioning or detailed vector graphic attributes seen in InDesign; however, it offers a practical overview of document layout. For more precise visual fidelity, PDF previews remain superior, yet iDML provides valuable insight into overall document structure and design.
